Green Innovation & Agritech Slam 2019 (GIAS) is a nation wide agricultural business competition that aims to find innovative solutions to critical challenges of the agricultural sector.

CRITERIA

  • Young and driven entrepreneurs 
  • Resident in Ethiopia 
  • Submit the application by the deadlines. For the Value Chain Challenge this is October 1st,2019, and for Pitch AgriHack Challenge, September 10th, 2019 (Deadline extended until September 20th, 2019).

FAQs

  • How is the cash prize distributed among the 10 winners? Is it equally among all winners or differently?

    There will be first and second winners, cash prizes are distributed based on the rankings for each categories.  

  • How far should a business have progressed to be eligible to apply?

    Idea stage entrants must have advanced their product beyond imagination. You must have a working prototype, which will be considered during review.

  • Can a single entrepreneur apply in all categories?

    No, we recommend entrepreneurs to find more suitable categories and apply with focus.

  • I don’t live in or around Addis; would the competition accept applications from regions?

    Absolutely. In fact we encourage rural youth and women to be part of these competition from anywhere in Ethiopia.
